  CONFLICT RESOLUTION & RECONCILIATION

Our work in this sector focuses on identifying and addressing the long-term root causes of dysfunctional human relations and conflict, as well as promoting processes of healing and learning that make it possible for all concerned to move to higher ground.

MEDIATION AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION

We have done mediation and conflict resolution:

within communities and programs,
between local populations and the development organizations on the "dominant culture",

between communities and programs,
between agencies and communities.

This work has involved trouble-shooting human relations problems within organizations and projects, and human relations training for development-related organizations.

RECONCILIATION AND RECONSTRUCTION

We have also worked with communities that have experienced severe trauma such as sexual abuse, residential schools, massive HIV rates, and war. This work has involved Four Worlds interventions in conflict situations, developing participatory governance structures, personal counseling, training in human relations, and the re-building of constructive relationships between groups and the formalizing of these relationships through organizational re-development and new constitutional structures.
